Badging Stations

We have eight badging stations at various locations around the convention space. Please review the Volunteer's FAQ for what is expected of someone doing badging. Badgers are not security. We would like everyone attending the convention to have the best experience possible, and through the years we have seen some changes in expectations and experiences.

The eight stations are CVG Central, Programing North, Programing South, Atrium West, Connies Space Lounge, Consuite North, Consuite South, and Gaming for the 22nd floor.

CVG central badges people entering programming space from the escalators, and after programming is done for the day, badges access to mainstage for evening events.

Programming North badges access to programing space from the elevators in the north (short) tower on the second floor. Programming South also badges this area on the south end of the lobby around the elevator and west stairs on the second floor, and also badges access into the programing space between the towers on the second floor.

Atrium West badges access into the first floor north (short) tower providing access to Art Show, Theater Nippon, Cinema Rex and the Science Room. This is a new position this year, taking over for the person who was badging outside of the Art Show room. Hours are the same as Programming North and South.

Connies Space Lounge badger badges access into Connies Space Lounge while it is open. The station is at the entry to Connies, on the second floor veranda of the South (Tall) Tower.

Consuite badging stations are at the north and south ends of the second floor east end of the poolside cabanas. You are providing access into the area where Consuite will be serving food. These two stations are 24 hours a day from when the convention begins through the end of the convention.

Gaming 22nd Floor provides access to lan gaming as well as RPG and other gaming that happens on the 22nd floor, as well as providing access to the Lit Lounge on the 22nd Floor. Asside from a period from 1 am to 9:30 am on Friday morning, this is an area that needs coverage 24 hours a day from the beginning of the convention through 3:30 pm on Sunday.

There are also two positions that are not 'badging' specifically. At the entrance to Art Show we do need someone to do Coat and Bag checking. Also on the 22nd floor we do want someone to host the Lit Lounge.

There are additional opportunities to badge that are not scheduled, but you can earn hours for. Harmonic Convergence is in an area that is not usually badged. We are vary appreciative of anyone who is attending an event in Harmonic Convergence stepping forward to talk to the people in charge of those events, and volunteering to badge the room for the event. Also there are opportunities at various locations for 'after hours' badging that currently does not appear on the schedule. The schedule is based on the information we have for events happening at the convention. Some events have been known to go beyond their expected scheduling time. Your efforts to make sure that badging continues for these areas is much appreciated. If you have any questions about the time you spend badging those areas, please see the head of Volunteers at the Volunteers and Information desk, or anyplace you happen to run into him.

Thank you from the entire staff at the Volunteers and Information desk.
